ALOT, especially RotTK titles, and all with varying degrees of ability. In ANY Total War game, how many named, unique generals have you ever had at any given point in time across your entire faction? Not many.

Speaking of generals, the other sore point with traditional Total War games is the lacking number of officers / generals at any given point in time.
ROMANCE OF THE THREE KINGDOMS 11 PUK GLITCH SERIES
I liked in the later games of the series the ability to appoint different offices to your generals, most important being your advisor. I liked how they had major impacts to other things outside the battlefield. As much as I like the Total War series, developing characters is essentially absent in the series.įrom the RotTK and NA games, I really loved the different stats, abilities, and unique feel to each of the characters, especially the big name ones. The small company Paradox has done it with Crusader Kings in the past.I'm just going by track record.

PTO was really hard if you were playing as Imperial Japan.ĬA could make a character centric game if they wanted. Oh, and I played a load of KOEI's "Operation Europe" as well as their various "PTO" (Pacific Theater of Operations) games on the Genesis, Saturn, and PS2. I think it's great how NA portraits are making their way into S2TW with the work of modders. Last note is the awesome character portraits in the RotTK and NA games. Oh, and they did push out RotTK 11 for the PC, but I'm not sure if it has the PUK expansion for it. Too bad Dynasty Warriors & Samurai Warriors are the only reliable things that cross the pacific with them, and they're hack & slash games. Even worse if you were looking for them on the PC. I wish Nobunaga's Ambition had a better track record for crossing into the USA. For "Nobunaga's Ambition" I've had Lord of Darkness on the SNES and Iron Triangle for the PS2. Over the years I played a bunch of KOEI's RotTK games on the consoles.

Of all the RotTK games, I replayed this one the most. The next Three Kingdoms themed game I tried was KOEI's RotTK2 on the Genesis. Then on my friend's NES, he rented KOEI's Nobunaga's Ambition 2, which kicked all kinds of ass. The first "Three Kingdoms" game I played was Capcom's "Destiny of an Emperor" (game start vid and song, which I liked) on the NES. I absolutely loved KOEI's RotTK and NA games. Heres a thread for those two games(probably gonna die real quick like too), rants, gaming, etc about them post here, id love to hear ppl's comparisons of Shogun 2 to the Nobunaga's ambition series as well.
ROMANCE OF THE THREE KINGDOMS 11 PUK GLITCH PC
The Romance of The Three Kingdoms series is probably Koei's highlight series other than Dynasty Warriors(which got suckier apparently), ROTK from 8 up are some of the best strategy/rpg games ive encountered, a stupidity on Koei's part is they never released either series en masse for the PC in english, for consoles sure, but errr, the pc versions have so much more(having played both PC and on Ps2 i know). I am a major fan of both these gaming series', for one the Nobunaga's Ambition series did a better job then anything ive encountered at making a fun and accurate game based on the Sengoku Jidai, it had such cool portraits for its characters too., game play was sometimes kinda confusing, but it does have its epicness. Well.theres bound to be some Koei game nerds around here, there everywhere ! Lool
